Christmastime

So writing in my blog is like the last thing on my list of Things to Keep Me Occupied and it looks like I've hit the Boring Last. So here it is, my Christmas entry~! Surprisingly, it was pretty nice having a kind of boring Christmas break. Who could ask for more, you ask? Especially because the weeks leading up to it were so frantic and crazy! But I'm finding myself itching and itching with boringness and I'm a bit excited to get back to the life of the crazy monotony of Mommy and the three little bears. Plus I just want to exercise, exericise, exercise, and eat close to nothing! This period of overindulgence almost sickens me and, although I haven't gained weight over the break, I feel like a glutton about to pop! It seems health is a state of mind and I've finally found it. One cool thing that I've learned this week is, I can now run every day. Before I could only run every other day because my hips would hurt. But now I can! Woohoo! So another step has been gained on the road toward my goal weight. Jared thinks I worked off half a pound of fat yesterday. If I hadn't eaten three, I'd be excited. Anyway, all this talk about weight isn't for the faint in heart, so I'll finally move on to the interesting tidbits of our Christmas!
The girls thoroughly enjoyed having Amy visiting from Utah. It was really nice to see her and she looks like she's doing great. We got to hang with her during the week. On Christmas Eve, Jared and I went to eat at a Chinese place for lunch while Mel babysat. Thanks Mel! We've been low on dates and it's so nice to get out with him sometimes. The girls were very excited for Christmas and I think the excitement inspired some bad attitudes. Lots of threats, "I've got santa on speed dial, do you want me to call him?" were made. Next year I'm going to get a little toy elf, say he's one of santa's lookouts, and set him up wherever there is trouble.
So we finally made it to Christmas Eve, we had a great dinner with Tim and Mel and hurried home to put the kids to bed at a reasonable time. Jared and I finished wrapping all the presents that night and the girls showed they listened well when they said, "I better sleep now or Santa's going to miss our house!" I forgot to give them the special jammies I bought (they're enjoying them now) but they were cute as ever. Jared and I jumped into the hot tub and stole a nice quiet moment before Santa came. Rylee got a swimming dollie and Madison got a Barbie--Princess giselle. Everyone piled into our bed at 7:30 and we headed out to look at the spoils. I got Jared a ring (since he'd lost his wedding ring three weeks after we were married). We looked outside and it had snowed!!! We hadn't expected that at all! It was exciting. They loved all the stocking stuffers, were really happy about the photo books I'd made them, and that's when Madison started complaining that she didn't get a swimming dollie. The unwrapping took about an hour and I made a nice breakfast for us all. We headed over to grandma's where everyone got great presents! We hung out there most of the day until after we ate a great dinner. Jackson was getting REALLY cranky so we went home and put everyone down for a nap. We spent the rest of the day at home with our little family and it was enjoyable.
I guess this sounds kind of boring. I'm just so glad there wasn't any traveling! Since then, we've played a little with our friends, hung out with Tim and Mel. I made specialty pizzas last night for all of us. There was every combination combining tomatoes, pepperoni, cheese, and pineapple and then cherry cobbler from the cherries I picked this summer and made into cherry pie filling. Yum!
